Newport Polo 

Marketing & Sales Manager: May 2015 - Present

 

I returned to Newport Polo upon graduation from Bentley University as its first full time professional employee, responsible for digital marketing campaigns, special project management, managing group sales, and events management during the public exhibition matches of the Newport International Polo Series. In my short time thus far, I have designed and launched a new web page, starting a new private event rental service. I created a series of new digital brochures for polo lessons, group and private events, print advertising in national publications, promotional signs and brochures for the official clothing line, and a new campaign for sponsor promotion. In the off-season, I am currently working on 2016 season planning with new special events and anniversary publications. 

 

Marketing Assistant & Venue Manager: May 2014 - September 2014

 

In my ninth season working for Newport Polo Inc. I assisted the club manager with marketing and operational functions. I created content for weekly e-newsletters sent to over 6,000 subscribers, updated web content, and wrote the weekly match highlights blog. During the weekly exhibinition matches every Saturday I managed the six person field crew, and provided support to the wait staff and bar staff, Pro-Shop, field marshal, and gate attendants. At this time, spectator crowds ranged from 2,000 to 6,000 people at the height of the season. 

 

Head Goal Judge: Summer 2008 - Summer 2010

 

I was promoted to head goal judge at the beginning of my third season working for Newport Polo. I became responsible for the one to four person field crew that completed game day set up, and then cleanup for weekly Saturday matches. 

 

Goal Judge: Summer 2006 - Summer 2008

 

I began working at Newport Polo as one of a two person field crew that was responsible for game day setup and break down. We laid out tables and chairs for the box seating enclosure, set up the audio system, prepared the field for game play and then broke everything down at the end of the night. Games were held every Saturday, June through September attracting 1,000 to 3,000 person crowds.

Graphic Design Intern: February - April 2015

 

Interning at GLAD, I reported to the Manager of Integrated Media, developing graphics for web and social media, and print design for advertisements and informational flyers. I created a series of stock graphics for use on Facebook, illustrations in conjunction with a timeline project with another intern, anniversary graphics celebrating achievements of two GLAD attorneys, to name a few. I was able to work under tight deadlines, managing multiple projects, working across departments on different GLAD initiatives. 

 

Bentley University

Resident Assistant: August 2012 to May 2015

 

I began working with first year students as a resident assistant my sophomore year at Bentley, moving to upper class students in 2014. As an RA, I act as a community resource, enforcing university policy, putting on 12 educational programs for residents per year, mediating conflict and assisting residents as needed.

As a private polo groom, I work for individual players, providing horse care, mounting between one and four players for practices and games as well as instructing private and group lessons. In 2011 I co-founded the Sakonnet Polo Club and organized an interscholastic polo team while enrolled as a full time high school student.
